glancies.com is a community map and listings board for adult cruising places — parks, gyms, bars, saunas, truck stops and more. Browse the map anonymously, check in at places, leave comments, save favorites, and message other users. No account is required to look around; you only sign in to post, message or add places.
glancies is strictly for adults. You must be over 18 years old to enter, and you must certify your age before using the site.
Effective August 20, 2026. This policy explains what information glancies collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the glancies.com website and the glancies mobile apps for Android and iOS, which are the same service. glancies is an adults-only community map; we collect as little as possible and you can browse the map without an account.
Information we collect.
Cookies and on-device storage. glancies sets only strictly necessary cookies — there are no
analytics, tracking or advertising cookies of any kind. There are exactly three:
glancies_token (keeps you signed in), glancies_oauth_state (a short-lived security
check during Google sign-in) and glancies_cookie_ok (records that you dismissed the cookie notice).
Separately, your own device stores a few preferences that never leave it unless you act — your age
confirmation and the birth year you entered, your notification and media choices, and your most recent map
position, which is kept so the map can open where you are instead of making you wait.
Google Drive video sharing — Limited Use. When you choose to send a video in a message, glancies
connects to your Google Drive using the least-permissive drive.file scope. This scope grants
glancies access only to the specific files you pick in the Google Picker or upload through glancies — never
to any other files in your Google Drive. For each video you send, glancies (1) records that file’s Drive file ID so
the message can reference it, and (2) sets that file’s sharing to “anyone with the link can view” so the
person you message can play it. glancies does not read, download, store, modify or delete any other content
in your Google Drive, does not use Google Drive data for advertising, and does not sell it. The glancies
use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the
Google
API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Human access to this data is not
performed except with your consent, for security or to comply with applicable law, or as needed for internal
operations after being de-identified. You can revoke the glancies access at any time at
myaccount.google.com/permissions,
and you can change or remove the sharing on any video from your own Google Drive.
How we use information. To operate the service — show the map and listings, deliver your messages and notifications, keep you signed in, prevent abuse, respond to reports and support requests, and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How information is shared. Content you post publicly (places, comments, check-ins, profile) is visible to other users by design. Private messages are shown to the people in the conversation. A video you send is stored in your own Google Drive and made link-viewable so your recipient can watch it. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users and our rights.
Service providers. We use a small number of providers purely to run the service, and share only what each one needs: Google — sign-in, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, and Google Drive when you choose to send a video; and Postmark — delivery of account email such as verification and password-reset messages, which means it receives your email address. Our servers are located in the United States, so your information is processed there.
Security. Traffic to glancies is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, so we never see or store your actual password. Access to production systems is restricted, and the service is built to collect the minimum data it needs. No online service can promise perfect security, but we design for it.
Your choices. You can browse the map without an account. You can decline location access, or revoke it later in your browser or device settings, and the map still works. You can switch individual notification types on or off in the app. You can edit or remove your display name, age, photos, videos and social links at any time, delete comments and places you posted, and block another user so neither of you sees the other.
Retention and deletion. We keep your account and content until you close your account or ask us to remove them.
Closing your account. You can close your account yourself at any time: open the menu (☰) and choose Close account. This is available on the website and inside the glancies apps, and it takes effect immediately — there is no waiting period and it cannot be undone. Closing your account permanently deletes your profile, your photos, your comments, your check-ins, your favorites, your private messages, and the notification token for your devices. We keep no copy and no record of you, so we will not contact you again.
Two things are worth knowing before you do it. First, deleting your messages also removes them from the other person’s copy of the conversation. Second, if you added a place to the map, the place listing itself stays — other people rely on it, and it may be the only listing for that location, so removing it would delete their comments and photos along with yours. The listing is transferred to the glancies account and is no longer connected to you; everything you personally wrote on it, including your own comments, is deleted. Videos you sent stay in your own Google Drive, where they have always been — delete or un-share them there whenever you like.
To request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to remove specific content without closing your account, email support@glancies.com (see also Report or Request Removal).
Children. glancies is strictly for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Contact. Questions about this policy or your data: support@glancies.com. We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date above.
